iterate to solve area macro
i am looking for a macro or instructions on how to create a macro to increment a dimension and then check the surface area until the desired surface area is acheived. i ahve two areas that i need to make the same and right now i have to keep entering values and checking the areas until i get it right.

it may be easier to enter say 3 or 4 values and keep track of the resulting areas then use excel to make a trend. then just set the two trends equal to each other and solve for the dimmension that you are looking for
or maybe better yet you could make a design table part with tons of configurations and just keep the mass properties window open while you flip through configurations till you find one with the right area.

i do something similar to that now but it is too time consuming when i have to do several areas - i am looking for something more automated.
may sound an odd question but how complex are these surface areas, what shape are they? if you email me the part or upload it here i can create a macro to do it for you
here is a simplified version of the model, i would like a macro that varies d1 until a1 and a2 are equal.

it appears most of the sketch lines are fixed, not relational. is that because you have simplified it? i was hoping to see the actual relations to work out some math code to solve it instead of trial and error. if it has relations could you upload that file, if not for now i will create a macro to brute force solve the areas.
how accurate would you like the areas to be done too?
