hi,
we recently updated from dd 1.14.05 to dd 2.1.0. with the new libs some extra data is being written to the dxf files. i've attached one old and the corresponding new file exported from our app (which uses vc8 static libs) to dxf 2000 format.
the new file contains:
- extra "designcenter data" for entities
- a value "none_device" in acdbplotsettings where the old file contains blank
can someone explain the difference and how to prevent it from appearing if the need be?

"designcenter data" is block insert units roundtrip data. currently it is saved unconditionally, even when insert units are default. it will be fixed in the next update.

no. nothing critical, i guess.
basically it causes our automation on dxf to fail as the baselines were created with 1.14.xx. it would be nice to know though if there is some way i can prevent it from happening, so that we don't have to rework our baselines.

well, autocad 2007 & 2005 generates new files with default printer device in plotsettings. it can be hp 4000 for example or something else. i think that none_device is a good choice for plotsettings defaults.
ps : it can be changed to application default printer in the future.
i've starting using 2.2.0 and the "designcenter" data is no longer being written. however now the following extra block is present in each of files generated with the new library:

any ideas about this? is this an intentional change in the new libs?

if roundtrip data is turned on, and if there are acdbvisualstyle objects in the file (like default one in the new database), then this change is intentional (default visual style should be added).
but, if roundtrip data is turned off, it should be deleted from classes section, as well as from named objects. it is a bug with this class.
but is is not the only class, that is incorrectly preserved in classes section, when saving to the previous versions without roundtrip. it is a known problem, hopefully it will be fixed soon enough.
