bug in rendering of text
i have been working to integrate dwgdirect into
out dredging support navigation software.
i found out how to do that, but also found there
is a bug (i think) in the routines for rendering texts.
i do the following:
i have the wingdi vectorizer/rasterizer do it's job
to get the contents of a dwg on a memory dc.
with each new position for the vessel, the bitmap
is shifted to keep the vessel in the center of the
screen.
then only the edges are redrawn. i do this by telling
the m_pdevive that the size of the 'view' has changed
by calling onsize(), adjust the world to screen conversion accordingly, and than have the edge redrawn with
m_pdevice->update(). for this purpose i supply a
temporary memory dc to m_pdevive, the contents
of which i bitblt to the right position on the original
dc. this way with each position update only a very
small part of the dwg has to be redrawn resulting in
a much better performance. this works perfectly most
of the time, but when only a very small part at the
start or end of a text lies withing the edge being redraw
this is sometimes omitted. it seems to me there is a
problem with the clipping of texts. i have supplied an
image illustrating the problem.

to further demonstrate the problem i have uploaded
the dwg with the texts which disappear to soon when
panning the window.
when you load this dwg into odamfcapp, zoom in on
one of the texts and then pan the window to the bottom,
you will see that at a certain moment the text disappears,
while it should still be partly visible. panning up again
makes the text reappear, but too late.

we fixed this defect. unfortunately 1.14.05 posted recently (ftp) does not contain the fix.
the fix will be available in next release/update.

when will the bug fix be available
thank you sergey, when will the fix for this problem be
available and where will i be able to get it. you mention
an ftp site, where can i find that? the member files area
still refers to dwgdirect version 1.14.02...

the fix is available in 2.0 (alpha with ac2007 support).
next 1.14 update is not planned yet.
