how to use and setup macros
hello all,
i have decided to start using the pdm workgroup option within soildworks to control data management. my issue is that i want to use marcos to help prepare the finished part / assembly drawing from purchasing / production. the way it currently being done is that i (engineer) draw the drawings then save them in pdf(for purchasing&production) and save the part file as a dxf 1:1 scale profile of the sheet metal / plasma part with no dimensions or title blocks for the purshising dept to send to your contracted fabicators.
1. my first question is there a marco out there that with do this for me after i completed the drawing ?.
2. how do i use marcos ?.
3. how do i load them into solidworks 2007 and setup up keyboard shortcut..?
im sorry if i have posted in the wrong topic group or asking question already been answered in previous posts. if anyone could help me , i would be very thankful...

attached is a macro to save parts and drawings.parts can be saved as step, iges etc and drawings can be saves as dwg. dxf and jpg.i suggest you save your drawings on different sheets. sheet 1 can be your default and sheet can be without dimensions. when the macro is run while a drawing is open you have the option to choose which sheet you want.if you do a search on this forum you would find a macro that can save as a pdf.alternatively, if you are using pdmworks there is an option to save the file as a pdf when checking into the vault.
to run the macro:
1. save the attached macro to a suitable location.(create a folder called macros).
2. go to options - system options - file locations - under "show folder for" select macros and point to the folder you created called macros.
3. you also need to activate the macro toolbar: view - toolbars - macros.
4. to run the macro : click on the green arrow - a menu would appear - select docexport.
