good morning to all. my question today is. can you delete a transaction from the data base? example your running a art in pcdmis and the data is sent to datapage , you now realize that the data is bad , you would like to remove just that transaction. can this be done? is it too late? thank you for the help.

data cannot be removed within datapage. you have to use datapage editor. i'm usnig version 3.24 your's may or may not be the same.
once you are in the correct database in editor go to the view pulldown menu, then data values. data values will fly open then choose data values again. this will give you a dialog box with a pull down at the to showing all the arts in that database. scroll down and find the art you need to change. once you have selected to right one make sure to select all under both the variables and transactions sections.
when you have done this a window will open showing your data. find the transaction you want to delete and click on it to highlight it. as a recautionary measure also click on the first data entry for that transaction. once these are selected go to the edit ull down menu. in edit you have save, new, delete, and copy otions. move the mouse pointer to delete and it will fly open giving you selected variables, selected transacions selected data values. pick the one you need. you will get a confirmation message but once you delete something it's gone and cannot be recovered so be sure you have the correct data chosen.

before deleting any data/transactions, back u your database, then if you do a 'boo-boo', you can get it back. while in the editor, simly go to:
database
ascii archive ~ dump
enter a filename in the filename box
click on list database
select all the arts in the list (or just the one you are working on)
click on dum.p
this will dump all the data into an ascii text file
or,
find the directory that holds the database and make a coy of it.
