what is required to handle acis solids embedded in dwg 2006?
do i need additional package? or is it included in dwgdirect?
what are the plans for acis in dwg 2007?

yes, you can access acis sat data for solids stored in a dwg file. if you send me an email (pete.rimkus@mastercam.com) i can send you some sample code which you can use to modify the odreadex example so that you can get access to the solid(s).
