comment part gd&t
hello,
i am not an expert on gd&t. this is my first shot at doing this for this particular part. if someone could make comments or give me some advice, i would really appreciate it.
the first page shows a s/rpt. this is the part i am responsible for. it has a four way and two way locator with a 0.5 & 2.5mm radius at the bottom with a 1 degree draft. there are two clips that goes into the dog house.
these clips attaches to the sheet metal shown on the second page.
i have a small rib 18x1 & 10x1 that nets to the sheet metal.
looking at detail "g", from left to right, the part is composed of a vent, then a back plate, then a gasket. the 4-way and 2-way is on the back plate. the part is assembled to the sheet metal by pushing the s/rpt along y-axis and have the clips snap into the dia. 9 holes on the sheet metal.
i have a on the 4-way, b on the 2-way and c1 & c2 on the standing ribs.
am i doing it right?

in addition, c1 and c2 are not flat. it follows the shape of the sheet metal which is slightly curved.

a(m)-b(m)|c would provide a repeatable setup.
having section f-f normal to ribs thru which c1 and c2 are on. then, pick up the 'low' point on the rib as c1 and c2 with a basic offset.
moving onto the second page.
that being said, a-b(m)-c(m)|d|e-f(m) might create some confusion out there. c(m) does not appear to be a feature of size. e and f were not described. while a(m)-b(m) establishes a centerplane between the two posts, adding the -c(m) is questionable.

page two is not my part. my part attaches to the one shown on page two. i want to make sure that my tolerance would result in a part that fits into the sheet metal.
i have to figure out how to cut the section along the c1 and c2 in ugnx3.

you stated that the rib upon which c1 and c2 are from are not planer. if you looked at the edge view of the rib, (approximately 15°) you should be able to get the tangency of the curvature. seems like it would be a natural point to reference.
the basic offset is picked up by your x,y,z coordinates. the basic dimensions still needed should have been between post a and post b.
as to the section, picture it parallel to the witness lines of the 18 and 10 dimensions going thru the tangency points of the curves then jogging to pick up the center of adjacent post respectively. hope that helps.
