how do i manage different versions of solidworks in c#
hi out there
i have made my first program. a solidworks api using the c# .net template. i have added a strong name and registrated it with regasm. all it ok on the computer where i made the program, and i can transport it another computer with the same version of solidworks(2008 version sp.0.0). but if i tranport the program to another computer with solidworks 2008 version sp 4.0, then i get a problem because of the version of swpublished. do i realy have to make different version of my program, depending on the different solidworks versions
please help.....

no you just need to use the latest dll files for your program then it is backward compatible so long as you do not use any functions not available for that version of solidworks. the general technique is to check the swapp.revision for what version it is and code accordingly

but problem starts when i want to registrate my dll on the receiving computer running a lower solidworks version. i use regasm to registrate. and it send me the error message "the file or assembly solidworks.interop.swpublish, version=16.4.0.104, culture=neutral, publickeytoken=89a97bdc5284e6d8 or one of its dependencies can not be registrated. the assembly mainifestdefinition does not correspond to the assembly reference.

that is because you either have not references the newer assemblies in the project->references, or you have not copied those dll files to the same folder as your exe, both steps need to be done.
