precast hollowcore concrete slabs
i was looking at the best way to anchor a hollowcore precast concrete slab to a bond beam. my outer wall is composed of 4" face brick with 1/2" air space, then 8" cmu. i have a 10" hollowcore precast concrete slab for the roof slab which will be bearing on top of a 8" bond beam which runs the top course around the building. is there a better way to anchor it other than just running a dowel from the bond beam into the slab, and for construction-detailing purposes, how is that done to anchor it using dowels? do they just specify and drill where the dowels will be then grout solid or? any knowledge is appreciated.

bearing end: you should have at least one continuous bar running parallel to the wall. you may have more if you need more diaphragm chord reinforcing. you can put a dowel into the core of the slab at xx spacing and grout the end of the core where the rebar is. the dowel should have a hook on it that is detailed on the opposite side of that continuous bar.
nonbearing end: you can knock out the top of the slab at the first core and insert a hooked or u-shaped rebar that connects the slab to the wall.
the area above the top of the block and the top of the slab and the outside of the block will get cast in place.
follow this site where they have some standard details for hollowcore.
the most common way to make the connection is to drill a 1/2" diameter hole through the plank, into the bond beam, and drive a #4 bar into the hole. because the #4 bar has deformations, it will fit tightly.
