默认 circular pipe on elastic foundation

circular pipe on elastic foundation
i have put together a spreadsheet that computes deflection, moment and shear on a "circular ring" based on equations in hetenyi's "beams on eleactic foundation." problem is... i don't or haven't yet found any problems with which to test my spreadsheet. any assistance is most appreciated.
check out our whitepaper library.
which begs the obvious question....why did you make the spreadsheet =p
some people play golf on weekends, some people mess around with tetbooks.
hetenyi's book is short on examples, long on formulas. i plugged the formulas into my spreadsheet and am seeking any verification problems i can find.
i don't have a sample problem to test your spreadsheet, but it sounds like you have a circular ringwall for a tank foundation.
loading you'd want to consider: uniform rolling moment applied to the ringwall (ie, tends to rotate the bottom out all around); overturning moment; uniform hoop force due to interior pressure.
what or how is the applied load applied to your cylinder? i.e., what is the load case?
thanks for the replies. all good questions.
btw, i'm doing this for "fun" - that is, i'm not getting paid for it, though it won't hurt at work.
i've set up the problem as an infinitely long pipeline "surrounded" by an elastic foundation. the load is a consant loading at the top of the pipe. the pipe is empty. i've got sort of what i want from the usace manual 1110-2-2909 "conduits, culverts, and pipes" but the pipe section is eliptical and the accompanying figure indicates that the moments on the pipe section were computed using staad and i'm looking for a hand-solution.
never mind, that's different from what i was envisioning.
i found whast looks like what i want in another usace manual, em 1110-2-2901, tunnels and shafts in rock. there's a figure of a circular tunnel lining that might be what i'm looking for. i also found some leads in the plastic pipe design manual - but i've got to check the astms to see if the equations apply only to plastic.
