hello forum,
if you look at the attached screenshot, you will see that odamfcappdll 2.5.2 does not render the text of the attached dwg file as autocad does.
why ?

dwgdirect interprets last two symbols as multibyte code. acad2008 conterts its by the same way (see attachment). your mtext has style with big font (bigfont.shx) but this font doesn't have this symbol. acad substitutes ttf font for this one symbol.

why the behaviour of my autocad 2004 and your autocad 2008 are not the same ?

acad stores text as unicode start from dwg version r21 which is supported by acad2007 and latter. also support of substituting font for single symbol also was added in acad2007. i suppose it is cause of differences. my acad2006 behaviour is similar of your acad2004.

where are some differences with rendering mtext in these version but also some functionality was added in acad2008.
