oddbentity::layerid ?
oddbentity::layerid ?
hello forum,
can the oddbentity::layerid be null ?
if yes, what does this mean ?
regards.
the layer id is null in newly created entity if it was not set to some value.
such entity can be saved to file. or if a layer referenced by entity was erased before saving to file.
this is invalid situation but usually its possible to avoid problems using layer "0" (default layer).

i have got a file where an oddbblock::explode generates an oddbellipse with a null layerid.
so you mean that in this case, the layer is "0" ?
i suppose you meant oddbblockreference::explode().
what is the layer of block reference being exploded?
setpropertiesfrom() is called for all result entities moving properties from blockreference to them.

the layer of the block reference being exploded is not null. to check this, in the odamfcappdll project, replace the cdwgview:

nproperties function by the following one :
code:
#include "dbblockreference.h"
#include "dbellipse.h"
void cdwgview:

nproperties()
{
int i ;
oddbobjectid layerid ;
odrxobjectptrarray dwgentities ;
oddbblockreferenceptr blockref = oddbblockreference::cast(curobjectid().safeopenobject()) ;
if(blockref.isnull() == false)
{
layerid = blockref->layerid() ;
blockref->explode(dwgentities) ;
for(i = 0 ; i < dwgentities.size() ; i++)
{
oddbellipseptr ellipse = oddbellipse::cast(dwgentities[i]) ;
if(ellipse.isnull() == false)
{
layerid = ellipse->layerid() ;
}
}
}
}then, open the attached dwg in odamfcappdll and put a breakpoint in cdwgview:

nproperties().
click on oddbdatabasedoc.acdbblocktable.*model_space.acdbbl ockrererence named "et_2nivx" and launch "properties".
you will see that an ellipse has a null layer id although the block reference not.

sorry for my previous post. properties are not moved from block reference. they remain the same as of source entities contained in block.
the null layer id is result of dd bug introduced in july (cr5433).
the layer id is not the only problem. oddbcircle::gettransformedcopy() works incorrectly for non-uniscaled matrix. in case of non-uniscaled matrix always default ellipse (just after createobject()) is returned.
the ellipse always has center (0,0,0) and radius 1. :-(
the fix is available at svn (trunk revision 141210).

sorry but i only know the member download area.
so what is svn ?
svn is subversion (version control system). founding members have access to dd sources via it.
