holes on a curved surface
i have a cylinder where i want to counter bore a hole, 0.5" wide down .375 and then at that point inserts a 1/4-20 thread to the center of the cylinder which has a center hole .251 in diameter.
i set up an offset plane at the .375" mark and scrambled a solution but what's the best way of doing this?
since you've made a flat-bottomed extrude for your holes why not use the hole wizard for your tapped hole? also, 2009 (possibly 2008) supports hole-wizard holes on cylinders.

i would use two hw holes. first the flat-bottomed 'drilled' hole with the blind option set to .375", then the tapped hole from the flat-bottom with up to next option.
