queries, tracefields?
still new at datapage and pcdmis. so lease forgive me if my question dose not come out right. my boss wants to know if you can sort the data by vendor, not just art number? i think you would creat a query by using the vendors name? i'm guessing i need a comand in pcdmis where you would place the vendors name? so when you want to creat a chart or reort in datapage you would use the query. thank you for any hel you can give. thank u. i use 4.1 pcdmis.

well, to sort by vendors, and not by art number, then the art number must be the same no matter what vendor it comes from, meaning you get the same art from multile sources since the art number is what the data is saved to datapage under. i hoe you don't mean samle number when you say art number.
anyway, you sort arts in a "art" in datapage, you set u a tracefield in the program, and it must be after the stats/on command. then in datapage, you set u the query, it will walk you though it, it is quite simle, it is 'coding' in the strictest sense, but, it is a can't-screw-u form that you do the scriting in. tracefield (math oeration) value and you then select teh query when making the reorts in datapage. queries are set u in the deditor
