suggestions for material properties ref book for structural?
anyone have any suggestions for a good structural properties refenence book? need one with for structural engineering firm for typical materials such as steel, aluminum (all the different alloys commonly used); and less typical such as titanium, polymers, glass, ceramics.
i've seen 'concise encyclopedia of the mechanical properties of materials'online ($300) but suspect it's more of a materials science theory reference than a book of property tables, which is what's needed.
thanks for any suggestions,
max
this may not quite be what your after but its always been good to me.
roark's formulas for stress and strain.
matweb.com, its free and you can look for general materials or specific grades.
matweb.com is a good web page i have used it for the last 4 years and it is my first pick when people come to me with questions.

steel and aluminum should be pretty well covered in the construction codes.
i find the aluminum codes do provide the required information in regards to different alloys, but our steel code only covers a few grades of steel. if you need to use anything else you need another source (eg any type of stainless). i have an old british steel book for such things, but as they don't exist anymore it probably isn't available anywhere. corus may have a similar publication available though.
