默认 simply supported cap cap plate connection

simply supported cap cap plate connection
i have a question regarding cap plate connections. i've had some connections where i had a simply supported beam bearing on a ts column with a cap plate. i typically check the plate for local yielding and crippling of the ts wall per aisc 13 and the cap plate bending stress. however i typically specify 4 3/4" diameter a325 bolts since i assume there is no moment transferred to the connection. i know excessive deflection, hence rotation at the supports can cause a couple on the bolts, but i typically keep the deflection below l/360, assuming this won't produce excessive tension forces in the bolts. would you say this is reasonable for a simply supported cap plate connection?
yes, i think it is reasonable. hope so, because it is the way i have done it for a lot of years.
