默认 shrinkage of wood studs

shrinkage of wood studs
i need some advice. i am designing a custom house that requires steel beams in hte second floor. the walls are wood studs. i am concerned about the shrinkage of the studs. the steel will be set on steel columns and these won't shrink. am i correct to assume that the larger the modulus of elasticity of the wood, the less shrinkage there will be assuming everything is equal-%moisture etc.?
see discussion starting on page 3-7 at this usda forest products lab link
i've mixed steel posts with timber studs many times and never had a problem. however, the studs have been seasoned timber, not green.
i believe shrinkage is related more to species than e. hardwoods are often prone to greater shrinkage.
