shearhead design to aci ??
hi!
i am using aci 318 for the first time (i am irish & normally use bs 8110) as i am using the steel section (i or h) shearhead design method in the code. i have made a ggod attempt at the design and am quite happy with it. however i think i have some questions that remain unanswered & a design example would help - does anyone know of one on the web?
example of q's:
the width of the cracked compostie slab taken into account when determining alpha_v (ie c1 + d). when i have 2 arms on each side of the column - what width do i take: c1 + d + arm to arm distance ??
should the i section be anchored to the concrete via shear studs/ welded rebar ??
