默认 shear resistance in footings

shear resistance in footings
does the aci318 or/and the bs8110 allow for using stirrups for shear resistance in shallow foundation isolated or combined footing in case it needs?
or just when the footing cross section is out of shear capacity increase dimensions?
check out our whitepaper library.
wouldn't you do the same as a wide beam? it's much better to make the footing thick enough you don't need shear reinforcement.
in the event you do decide to go with shear reinforcement, be sure to look up some research on shear reinforcement in wide beams. there are some additional effects you need to know about that are not addressed in the aci code as of yet, to my knowledge. the bs may have this information, i don't know.
in situations where shear is a problem, i've used double bend vertical bars between the top and bottom steel layers of a pile cap.
