i'm looking for the most comprehensive, easy to read design/construction publication available concerning seismic retrofitting existing buildings? any recommendations are appreciated.

you can begin your search with the following web sites and then refine the material you're searching for as necessary.
also try fema 356 & 357. they easy to read, compared to other code books, and give you the step by step. i don't know if there is a text book yet that follows these, but if there is one, could someone let us all know about it?
