screws safety factors
i have to check the b screws (subgirt to structure) of a building. the safety factors used in our company are undecided (from 2 to 4). could anybody suggest any refference for screws safety factors in construction?
thanks in advance.
check out our whitepaper library.

gives capacity for steel to steel connections
for steel-to-steel in tension, i try to use 2.5 or greater safety factor as general guide. same for shear. for embedded anchors in concrete, i use 4 to 5. most anchor manufacturers use 5.
i don't have a specific reference for this, just a practice.
i am not sure what type of screw you are inquiring about. i think your asking about self tapping screws.i suggest that you contact the indugtrial fasteners institute, cleveland , oh 44114.
