projected area method vs normal force method
i am working on a project which is in malayasia. they want us to design modules as per ubc 97 for both seismic and wind. i was reading ubc 97 for wind and found there are two method for wind design ie normal force method and projected area method. i will appreciate if somebody can guide me the diference and which one is use when and how is it different from analytical method of asce 7-05

design loads will be higher if used ubc 1997 to calculate wind loads.
