hi. i was wondering does anyone know the following:
1. who is the "father" of post tensioning. who came up with the theory behind it?
2. where was it first put to use? i know it was 1957 (from faq forum) and in the usa, but not where.

eugene freyssinet proposed the method of overcoming prestress losses through the use of high-strenght steel cables. ty lin developed the load-balancing method, which simplified the design effort.
