nbc vs. ibc
to anyone familiar with both the nbc and ibc. i am from the u.s. and looking at bidding a project in nova scotia. here is the design snow and wind load information:
ground snow load => ss = 2.2 kpa, sr = 0.6 kpa
hourly wind pressure => 1/10 = 0.40 kpa, 1/50 = 0.55 kpa
can anyone give me a ballpark for the ibc equivalents. i can obviously do the conversions from kpa to psf, but not knowing the nbc, i do not know what other factors are involved, as to get an end result equivalent.
of course, if we get the bid, we will get a canadian engineer for the final design.
