model a wall of brick in sap 2000.
how can i model wall of brick together with other frame elements which do building.
check out our whitepaper library.
you can model the wall as a regular plate element. i do encounted the same problem and modelled the shear wall as a vertical plate element and the connection to the other framing elements depends upon, how do you actually use the brick wall(i mean load bearing).
i used risa-3d to model the three dimentional structure.
i use staad/pro and you can model the brick element in their gui. if you want to use sap afterwards, you can use some common available translators.
just an expression of my doubt...
a brick wall has different stiffness in compression and tension. i dont know whether sap2000 is capable of doing so. i will watch this thread for better understanding.
