locating walls in a new building
i've heard that:
"walls should not be located along the building's main column lines"
can someone tell me why?

if you have cmu walls partially bracing columns you will end up with a stiffer element than anticipated, thus attracting higher lateral loads to the column that may lead to a shear failure.
