where can i find info about design of hybrid (builtup) steel columns?
a good place to start is section 3.6 from design of welded structures by blodgett. together with the code requirements and basic structural principles, design shouldn't be too difficult. good luck.
"guide to stability design criteria for metal structures" has information on laced and battened built up columns if this interests you.
