how to calculate the capacity for the typical tilt-up wall-t
i need to find out the shear capacity for the typical tilt-up wall-to-wall connection.
in this connection, steel angles are embedded at the interior face of the wall panels with two inclined headed stud welded to each angle. a steel plate is welded to both embedments to form the connection.
i am not quite sure about how to use the equation in aci-318-02 appendix d to get the capacity for this connection.
anybody know how to calculate the capacity for this connection? many thinks!
i don't have this manual in front of me, but pci's 5th edition has a good example of this. although, they use reinforcement instead of headed studs. same principle though. pci's 5th edition is very helpful and also try the new edition (6th). much of the same information, just more in depth with some new information.
