gust factor for flexible structures
i was wondering if any one out there knows if a gf of 1.0 is reasonable for a flexible structure? i calculated this using asce 7-05 provisions. i also used the approximate fundamental period calculated using asce 7-05 to calculate the natural frequency of the structure which is used in the calculations for gf. is this okay?
