默认 garage cable rail

garage cable rail
i have a situation where i need to specify the tensile prestress force in cable rail used for a vehicle barrier system in a precast garage. the contractor is trying to use 3/8" diameter grade 250 strands. i cannot find any documentation by the manufacturer concerning recommended prestress force in the strands. assuming 0.70fpu tensile stress immediately after force transfer at the anchorages, and 13 ksi due to prestress losses, i am getting an effective prestress of 162 ksi. this leads me to 13.75 kips as an effective jacking force. i don't think i need anywhere close to this amount for a cable rail system, does anyone have any guidance on how much prestress i need?
also, once i determind the prestress force, i am going to need to determine the anchorage force required due to a 6000 lb static vehicle force. don't i need to assume an angle of cable deflection to utilize statics to solve for the reaction? i am sure i am overthinking this problem, but would appreciate any advice.

check out the attached pti document. if you search on "barrier cables", you should be able to find a lot more info.
