flexural capacity of outstanding leg of angle
hi everyone,
can anybody give me a little trick to calculate the flexural capacity of the outstanding leg of an angle bolted to a wall. the angle is there to support a an aluminum doorsill.

it's just plain bending of the plate of leg - minor axis bending of a rectangle.
yes, and i would use an effective width equal to the bearing width plus the extra from a 45 degree line from each corner of the bearing plate or whatever transfers load to the angle. you can be conservative and take the bearing width only.
