concrete reinforcement anchorage to steel beam
i am designing a residential structure with icf walls. there is a 2nd floor icf wall that does not have support below so i designed a cast-in-place beam to carry the wall. the builder would like to use a steel beam instead. what types of anchorage would be acceptable for the wall reinforcement to the steel beam. aci 12.14.3 talks about welded splices but would this apply to my case? thanks for your input.
check out our whitepaper library.

i would weld rebars (a706, not a615 in the usa) to the top flange or use deformed bar anchors (dba's). use these at the filled cell locations and lap with the masonry reinforcement with the typical lap splice you would normally use.
