circular flanges in bending
i am looking for a satisfatory method of designing circular "donut" shapes baseplates / flanges subjected to bending moments, such as baseplates of monopole masts. up to now i used an empirical method based on "common sense".

many people use finite element method for analyzing this type of base plates. i use formulae from "roark's formulas for stress & strain book." you can try
