默认 asce 7 wind method 1 method 2

asce 7 wind method 1 & method 2
in asce 7-02 (or 05), is it permissible to always use method 2 no matter what the building height? method 2 tables/figures say all building heights so i have always assumed that it is permissible.
for large metal building (low slope roof, h/l low), method 2 results in significantly smaller uplift reaction to interior columns since c_p factor lowers as you move horizontally from the windward wall.
find a job or post a job opening
method 1 applies to regular-shaped buildings, etc. (6.4.1.1, et al). what if you've got a low-rise, but it's not a regularly-shaped building? easy: use method 2. i run into this problem a lot. the customer starts with a large, regular building, then they start adding or subtracting and i've got a bunch of re-entrant corners and use method 2.
yes. method 2 is usable on essentially all.
