默认 anyone else thinks it is confusing

anyone else thinks it is confusing?
a lot of the equations on aci318-05 use "/" as a divide symbol but the whole texts are italics. so the / looks like i in italics. for example look at 12.5.2. another engineer asked me what i was and i was confused too for a min. i think the / should me more in an angle. it looks like crap. you dont want new engineers started plugging the moment inertia of the rebar diameter do you? .
not almost anymore!
i agree, it is a division sign, although chapter 2 "notations" does show an i in italics.
sadly, a lot of new engineers don't think to prove things to themselves.
"i" is thicker and shorter than "/". i've never heard of anyone getting confused about that...
that one never caught my eye. the use of arial font and lower case "l" vs upper case "i" seems more confusing to me.
this formula presentation is fundamental stuff - did anyone at aci proof read it before it was issued?
i agree that it is confusing. i actually spent about 20 minutes looking at one of those "division" symbols one time before i started looking through my notes and realized what it was!!
