默认 american electrode classification

american electrode classification
i am looking section j.2 of the aisc specification and trying to determine a weld capacity as per table j2.5.
it seems fillet strength is based on fexx (an electrode classification number in ksi).
where would i find this information as the commentary came up blank.
ideally i would be looking for something similar to an e42 electrode to bs en 499 (min yield strength 420mpa, uts 500-640mpa)
find a job or post a job opening
that number is basically the minimum specified ultimate tensile strength of the weld metal (per the applicable aws a5 document), so if you're really using your e42, plug in 500 mpa or 72 ksi.
if you need to use an american electrode, they come in 10-ksi increments, but the e80 electrodes are just weathering versions of the e70s. e70 electrodes (485 mpa) are most typically used for building and bridge construction with 50-ksi (345 mpa) steel. e90 electrodes are used with gr. 70 steel.

en 499 is equivalent to aws a5.1---specification for carbon steel electrodes for shielded metal arc welding. there is a metric version of a5.1
