2001 ca. building code
we are designing cladding for a project in ca. and we are required to use the ca. buildin code. are the seismic design provisions in the ca. building code the same as in the 2000 ibc or the 2003 ibc or are there differences?
the 2007 cbc is based off of the 2006 ibc. seismic loads come from asce 7-05, cladding would be under section 13.3 seismic demands on nonstructural components
if 2001 (instead of 2007) california building code is intended, it is based on the 1997 uniform building code with state amendments. for hospitals or school projects, look at the chapters with an a designation (example chapter 16a instead of chapter 16). for projects under local jurisdiction, follow the local building code (for city of los angeles, look at 2002 city of los angeles building code, which is a local adoption of the state code with local amendments).
