difference between mapped and free mesh
dear all,
i am dealing with a 2d model where in it's very difficult to go for a mapped mesh. but i have been instructed to go for that strictly in the regions of flange connection and bolts. in previous analysis i used to go for a general free mesh (ansys). can any one tell me what diffence we will feel in th eresults if i go for a mapped mesh instead of a free mesh. (according to me in the critical regions it only matters about the quality of your mesh and their density to apture the actual variation of the field vatiable).
