默认 plating thickness callou

plating thickness callout?
is there an asme standardized way of calling out plating thickness on specific surfaces? if asme doesn't standardize this, does anyone else?

cmm, is your question:
1. is there a spec for plating thickness.
2. is there a spec for how you indicate which surfaces are plated.
3. is there a spec for specifiying different plating thicknesses on different surfaces.
1. has been dealt with in some depth before, try searching a few months (maybe a year) back.
2. i've done in various ways but off the top of my head can't think of an explicit asme spec.
kenat, probably the least qualified checker you'll ever meet...
the various astm standards for plating each contain a section describing how to properly and fully cite the standard on a drawing, in a specification or po.
search for "plating" in the title here:
kenat, my question is basically your question #2. i want to call out a minimum plating thickness on specific surfaces.

so basically you want to know if there's an asme preffered way of indicating only select faces.
i've done it a number of ways, often i'll just put a flag callout to the surfaces i care about and word the flag note something like "finish ... indicated surfaces only".
or sometimes i'll hatch the surfaces or areas of surface to help clarify.
maybe someone else knows of an actual asme preffered way but i don't recall seeing it in a standard.

kenat, probably the least qualified checker you'll ever meet...
it depends on what type of plating you are doing.
