problem hatch
hi
the attached file contains a single hatch. i having trouble because dwgdirect is telling me that the hatch contains 4 loops.
however, each loop contains an unclosed curve of klineseg2d segments. i would have expected each of these curves to be an element in a single loop.
the hatch appears to be contiguous when drawn in odamfcapp.
can anyone comment on whether this is a valid and correct file?
thanks
peter.

non-solid hatch with non-closed loops can be created even in autocad. but such hatch can't be converted to solid one.

hi sergey,
thanks for the response. i am a bit confused though. the hatch in the file is drawn as a solid in odamfcapp. are you saying that this hatch isn't actually solid?
thanks
peter.
the hatch is not solid. it may look as solid at some zoom level if it gets too dense.

hi sergey,
i'm sorry i used the term 'solid' without realising that it had a technical meaning different from what i meant.
what i'm seeing in my example file is a hatch drawn with a lattice fill, within what appears to be a closed loop.
is this valid when the data shows that the curves are unclosed on separate loops?
thanks
peter.
attached is file created in autocad.
the hatches are created by selecting a number of lines which do not form closed loops.
such hatches can't be transformed to solid (solid fill) ones.
but autocad's hatching algorithm does not require closed loops. it simply uses the intersection points of hatch lines with boundary segments to make decision if a hatch line should be drawn or not.

this was a response that i have deleted as it is no longer needed.
