hi,
we are thinking of converting (and enhanching) our autocad connection, from the old open dwg library to the new dwg direct. our export today is quite simple, without a good handling of dim/text styles etc.
a quick question: with dwg direct, is it possible to read the existing (dim)styles in a dwg file, and then add dimensions, text etc using these existing styles? sort of "appending" to the dwg file, keeping the styles.
also, could anyone recomend a book/document on autocad, suitable for a programmer.

with dwgdirect it's possible to read styles and append new entities. unlike odt dwgdirect contains functionality to build dimension blocks (*d) representing dimension appearence.
you can download for free objectarx from autodesk's site. it's help is very usefull.
