i am trying to get selection set for layers..
code snippet is
odresbufptr rb = odresbuf::newrb(odresbuf::kdxflayername, layername);
oddbselectionsetptr setofentities = oddbselectionset::select(pdb,rb);
this setofentities returns me the list of entities from model and viewport(layout) also.
i need to get entities from model only..
is there any way to achieve this??
please help me, its a show stopper for my development..

still this piece of code reading entities from view port(layout)..

sorry, i didn't check if my answer actually works.
currently there is a bug in selection implementation, that misinterprets odresbuf::kdxfviewportvisibility flag.
it will be fixed in the next release.
actualy, if you need to just select entities on some layer, you need not to use selection filters. they are supposed to be used from lisp, or as a supplement to window/crossing selection.
to select entities on a given layer in a block just iterate through it and check if the entity layer id is the right one.
like this:

is there any way to check whether oddbentity is from viewport or from model space??

entity owner is the space where it belongs.
in the code i posted, you know entity owner, because you traverse it.
i think, reading some book on arx programming would help you greatly. (currently we have no deveper's guide for dd)

i found out work around
odresbufptr prblayer = odresbuf::newrb(odresbuf::kdxflayername, layername);
oddbselectionsetptr setofentities = oddbselectionset::select(pdb,prblayer);
odresbufptr prbviewport =odresbuf::newrb(67,(odint16)1);
oddbselectionsetptr setofentitiesfromviewport = oddbselectionset::select(pdb,prbviewport);
setofentities->remove(setofentitiesfromviewport);
get seperate selection set for view port and remove that from total list..
not sure this is prooper way or not..
but it solved my problem..
