major linux problems
major linux problems
i have been using opendwg on linux for a while now. there continue to be major and perplexing problems that are unique to the linux distribution.
for instance, the makefile for the one sample program available needs massive work to get it to work from its current location. it was obviously tested from a diferent location than it currently resides in (assuming it was tested at all).
previously the sample program could be linked and run, but compiling the 1.12 distribution sample results in an "undefined reference to oddbcommandcontext::g_pdesc".
under 1.11 (can't try it under 1.12 yet - see the above) the use of shx font files (as opposed to the built-in stick font) results in the arc portions of chracters being rotated. it appears that use of shx fonts was not tested as this is a widespread problem.
we really need a working version of 1.12 under linux.
attached to this message is an archive containing:
1. a makefile that can be used to build oddwfexportex (the library order in the link line of the makefile in dd_nonlibsunix.tar.gz was incorrect). modifying this order will resolve the undefined symbol error.
2. dd_lnxx86_dwfexport.a - fix for the arc problem.
3. dd_lnxx86_root.a - fix for a crash that occurs in 1.12 dwf export, due to an uninitialized output parameter being passed to strftime().
if anyone has a problem accessing the attachment, please send mail to and we will send you the patch directly.
