hi,
odamfcapp 1.1204 crashes while loading attached file. acad can load it.

dd 1.12.04 does not crash while opening the file. it throws exception "unexpected end of file".
dd recover repairs the file.
autocad 2004 refuses to open the file. its recover opens it as an empty drawing.
so dd is much more tolerant to defects in this file.

thank you for your reply. i'm surprised because my autocad 2004 has no trouble opening the file. however, you are right, dd1.1204 can recover the file. but i'm uncertain about odamfcapp (debug version,vc60) because it keeps crashing. my question is, am i doing something wrong?

i downloaded the file once more and got a different results. probably the end of file was truncated during dounload. where were thousands of errors reported with the first file version and only 22 now.
with the latest copy of the file autocads r14-2005 load the file, recover reports erros like odamfcapp recover.
when i open the file with odamfcapp i get an assertion in debug build and message box "dwg object improperly read" (in both debug and release). but no crash.
