this thread may open up a can of worms so please accept my apologies in advance. for those who have used the opendwg toolkit to read dwg files and are in the process of upgrading to dwgdirect for reading dwg files, is there a preference for doing
things the "old" opendwg toolkit way ?
i've found some cases with 3dsolids and solid proxies where dwgdirect works better than the toolkit. also 2004 support is critical to us, and that's only available in dwgdirect
i'm reluctant to port my complete app to dd, since i don't really have the time right now, so all i'm doing for now is :
1) open a file using odt (v2.012)
2) if it has solids, or if it won't open, we switch to a 2004->2002 converter built with dwgdirect (v1.09).
3) that converter is also used to grab the acis data of any 3dsolids, bodys, regions, or proxy solids.
