The Summer Palace
The Summer Palace is a splendid museum of traditional Chinese garden arts and widely renowned as ‘the garden of gardens’. The Summer Palace (YiHeYuan) is located to the west of central Beijing. It is the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China. As its name implies, the Summer Palace was a summer residence for China’s emperors. The Summer Palace blends large lake, bridges, pavilions, temples, cobble paths to create a poetic effect between ever-changing scenes. |
