mirror solid body in multi-body part?

i can't find anything in help about patterning an unmerged body in a multi-body model. i get the error note: only merging features may be patterned. if appropriate, make a pattern of bodies instead. any suggestions?
we are forced to create multi-bodies of o-rings in our models (revolved ellipse) to show the installed o-rings, and i thought it would be easier to pattern them instead of making multiple solid bodies. i could be wrong.

in your attempt to create the pattern, did you select the feature that created the o-ring or the solid body? there are separate sections in the pattern input for features and bodies.
oh yeah... is it still monday? thanks. perhaps this is my subconscious resistance to making these o-rings multi-bodies to begin with.
don'tcha just hate it when that happens???
