i need a sw code cracker
when i make a sheet metal part from a sheet metal gauge table it will automatically make a linked equation "thickness"=a dimension where is that macro and how can i edit it to also make an equation that instead of a ".0747" it will say "14" or even better "14ga." even though it seems it has to be a text but i can add the "ga." inside the custom bom properties manually as soon as i hit that green check to confirm the sheet metal feature it imbeds the sheet gauge table into the model so i would also love it if there is an equation i can just put into the custom properties that will identify information from that table for me like "cell b9" for example would be pretty sweet this same thing goes for a weldment profile, as soon as i confirm that a certain line in a sketch is a ".0747 x 1.50 x 1.50" square tube there is another macro that will update the custom properties of that part in the same matter, almost like behind the scenes it will delete, look up the new info, copy and paste so where are these actions and how can i change them, ive found all sorts of interesting access tables and excel tables looking for them but none seem to have anything to do with it thanks for any and all help you can give me or any incite into the problem, thanks a bunch just trying to figure it all out you can make a macro to some of this, but not all. there's some functions that you prolly don't want to mess with (like adding ga to a numeric value defaulted by sw). you can do a lot of what you want via custom properties, but you'll likely have to develop those macros or pay someone else to do it specifically for your needs. i know this isn't a direct answer, but it may be the quickest solution. matt lorono solidworks 2007 sp3.1 cad engineer/ecn analyst co-moderator of |
