external threading urgent
i have been given some drawnings to model and assemble. how do i make an external threading with a size of m6*1. the part will fit into a hole. check out our whitepaper library. search "threads" in the help files. you probably don't need to model the true helical threads, right--since the m6 callout would then be redundant. if you really need the helical stuff, search for "sweep" and "helix" in help. jeff mowry mcmaster-carr has great examples, you may even be able to use a screw right off their website. -brian download the types of threads examples at check my faq: nufcshearer, how good do these threads have to be? are you preparing a drawing with threading instructions, or is your solid model going to be used for manufacturing tooling? jhg if you really don't need the threads, don't model them. it takes up a whole lotta space. colin fitzpatrick (aka macduff) mechanical designer solidworks 2008 sp 4.0 dell 490 xp pro sp 2 xeon cpu 3.00 ghz 3.00 gb of ram nvida quadro fx 3450 512 mb 3d connexion-spaceexplorer (i guess it wasn't that urgent after all.) jeff mowry lmao! that's funny jeff! }:o) colin fitzpatrick (aka macduff) mechanical designer solidworks 2008 sp 4.0 dell 490 xp pro sp 2 xeon cpu 3.00 ghz 3.00 gb of ram nvida quadro fx 3450 512 mb 3d connexion-spaceexplorer |
