toggle dimension name macro
i've created a macro to toggle the "dimension names" on and off which works except that i want it to update teh grpahics area. i have to rotate or pan the model view for it to show or unshow the dimension names. i've tried a "redraw" but that doesn't work. any ideas? here's the code" dim swapp as object dim swmodel as object dim bret as boolean dim bdimname as boolean sub main() set swapp = application.sldworks set swmodel = swapp.activedoc bdimname = swapp.getuserpreferencetoggle(swshowdimensionnames) if bdimname = false then bret = swapp.setuserpreferencetoggle(swshowdimensionnames, true) else bret = swapp.setuserpreferencetoggle(swshowdimensionnames, false) end if end sub jason capriotti jason.capriotti@thyssenkrupp.com solidworks 2009 sp3.0 winxp 32 & 64bit try adding the following to the end of your code: brebuild = swmodel.editrebuild3() where brebuild is a boolean type variable. steve ecker application engineer tridaq, inc. i tried that a little while ago and it works good unless you are in a sketch. then it exits the sketch and rebuilds the model. i wonder what command solidworks is using when you "ok" the options dialogue. it performs some kind of refresh that updates the screen but i can't find it anywhere. jason capriotti jason.capriotti@thyssenkrupp.com solidworks 2009 sp3.0 winxp 32 & 64bit are you only using this inside of a sketch? if so, maybe you could "change" the view orientation to "normal to" or "isometric" instead of using a rebuild: swmodel.shownamedview2 "*normal to", -1 steve ecker application engineer tridaq, inc. or maybe a zoom to fit: swmodel.viewzoomtofit2 steve ecker application engineer tridaq, inc. i put in a zoomin and zoomout statement which works. thanks for the sugestions. jason capriotti jason.capriotti@thyssenkrupp.com solidworks 2009 sp3.0 winxp 32 & 64bit quick |
